we saw a great exhibition of frida kahlo in vienna yesterday (although the subtitles could have been a bit “bolder”, so you can read normally, cause it’s hard to read from distance, that is because otherwise other ten people that are looking at the same painting would punch you). and afterwards attended the opening of a typopassage exhibition (by bauer konzept & gestaltung) at a great place museumquartier. i guess we looked like landing from another planet so a nice monsieur stepped towards us. we later on “discovered” it was mr. erwin bauer himself. was a great pleasure!

all about the trip to vienna was fun! except i think they’re a bit overexaggerating with all this christmas/new year spirit already in november. we headed back to slovenia just in time when snow started there. and you can see before–after image below of the scene in ljubljana. met a dear friend last week and even the last time we talked and i got out my lomo camera, he was impressed: “wou, i remember having something like that when i was a kid.” and few hours later he contacted me saying that his dad has a zenit he hasn’t been using for years and if i’m interested i can try it out. i was totally excited. and we met last week and it’s an amazing feeling that hit me when holding that beauty in my hands. yeah, both hands cause it’s not that light as diana (lomo) is.

and i went home for the weekend, announced my new great treat. and my brother was: “oh, don’t you remember when we were kids and dad took photos of us witha similar camera?” i didn’t. and later talking to dad, he showed me the wonder of analog photography, praktica. and explained in short how it works.

now it’s all up to trying, testing and learning! learning first!

on sunday finally had everything ready to start first independent screenprinting session with a friend of mine who designes flyers for buba. his portfolio should be on web soon, until then you can check his work here. so hopefully we can put in life term “concert poster” in slovenia. more news on how/where to get poster soon. first some photos.

when looking through great typefaces that were designed in 2010 at Reading University, i came across Steve Ross‘s website and it made me laugh right-away.
